The position of county 4-H coordinator has been expanded in Gogebic County. The current coordinator has been employed part time. The position would now be full time from the beginning of April to the end of November of the upcoming year. TheDailyGlobe reports the County Board of Commissioners chair, Jim Lorenson said the $40,000 salary could be funded from the youth activities budget. There was discussion regarding the move, acknowledging the need for the expanded position, agreeing that there is community benefit to 4-H programs. The supervising and staff development educator in the Bessemer office will present ongoing 4-H initiatives at a meeting in the new year.
