A Michigan judge has ruled that former president Trump’s name will remain on the state’s primary ballot. Judge James Redford in the Court of Claims rejected arguments that his role in the January 6th insurrection meant the court should declare him ineligible for the presidency. Redford’s ruling states that because he followed state law in qualifying for the primary ballot, Trump cannot be removed. Additionally, Redford said it should be up to Congress to decide whether Trump is disqualified under the 14th amendment.
