Trail Riding Season Right Around the Corner…Are You Prepared?

A snowmobile safety certification course is being offered on December 2nd at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood. The purpose of the Snowmobile Safety Course is to educate and develop safe, knowledgeable, and responsible snowmobile owners and operators. Topics covered include correct riding techniques, protective equipment, understanding terrain and trail operations, laws and regulations, causes and prevention of crashes, environmental concerns and reporting responsibility. The class is 8 hours of in-classroom instruction offered by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. There is no age limit for the course, but kids under 10 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. More information can be found on the Michigan DNR website.
