New Affordable Apartment Building Approved for Ironwood

In a unanimous vote earlier in the month, construction site plans for a three story apartment building with 45 units and commercial space on the first floor have been approved by the Ironwood Planning Commission. TheDailyGlobe reports Cinnaire Solutions, a non-profit housing group, plans on 31 one bedroom units and 14 two bedroom units. The site is located across from the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store on Aurora Street. The former bank building in that area will be demolished and parking and green space that will double as snow storage in the winter will be part of the development. Ironwood’s community devel director, Tom Bergman will make regular reports to the commission and said Cinnaire will be applying for a state housing grant for funding
