A Lac du Flambeau man has appeared in Vilas County Court via video and pleaded not guilty in the fatal stabbing death of another man in mid-August. Matthew Allen Jr. entered his plea of not guilty in the death of Joshua Hart. When Lac du Flambeau police arrived at Hart’s residence, Hart was still conscious and was able to identify Allen as his attacker. A witness also identified Allen as the attacker. He remains in jail on a $100,000 cash bond. Pretrial proceedings are scheduled for March 14th.
