Iron County Board of Commissioners Meet on Opioid Funds, Fairground Vandalism, Camping Reservations

The Iron County Board of Commissioners at their last meeting voted to place just over $83,500 in Opioid Settlement funds into 2023 budget. Because of the nature of the funding, there are restrictions, the county is looking at using them for drug counseling in jail. The board also discussed damage to the restrooms at the Iron County Fairgrounds due to vandalism. Objects had been dropped from the top level of the grandstands onto the restroom roof. The restroom door was also damaged. The decision was made to set up a higher barrier on top of the grandstands. The board also set Jan 1 through 15th as the window for regular seasonal campers to reserve spots in Pentoga Park in Crystal Falls ahead of the general public. Regular season campers rent almost half of the campsites available each year.
