Apartment Fire In Ashland Still A Mystery

Investigation continues into a fire that damaged a home in the 7oo block of Third Street East in Ashland last Friday. TheAshlandDailyPress reports Police Chief Bill Hagstrom has said so far, there is nothing to support the rumors that the duplex was being used for the manufacture of drugs. He would not comment further on the subject of drugs in connection with the apartment. Investigators think the fire started in the ceiling of the eastern part of the building. Two residents who lived on the second floor have not been able to return to their home due to the damage. The Salvation Army has helped with lodging, clothing and vouchers for food. The fire department is still looking into the cause of the blaze.
