Wakefield Moves Forward With First Phase of Water System Updates

At the most recent Wakefield City Council meeting, the board voted to approve a bid for the first phase of a major water project. According to TheDailyGlobe, moving forward by accepting a bid will now allow the council to secure low interest revenue bonds to fund the project. The cost of phase one will be about $3.5 million. Phase 1 will cover replacing a large section of water main. The money from the bonds will also be used to replace water main at a number of homes in Bingoville. If everything goes according to plan, the City should have a more extensive schedule of construction that should start in the Spring.
