The Vilas County Board of Supervisors at their meeting at the end of September held a vote on creating two school resource officers-deputy sheriff positions for the next three school years. The VilasCountyNewsReview reports the two officers would be shared by the Northland Pines, Phelps, North Lakeland and Arbor Vitae-Woodruff school districts, with each district sharing equally in the funding of the officers. The Sheriff would also purchase an additional squad car. The cost of the new officers will be just over $335,000 over three years.
