Three schools in the area were locked down for a time last Friday. Lakeland Union High School, Minocqua-Hazelhurst-Lake Tomahawk school district and Arbor Vitae-Woodruff school district were all placed on lockdown shortly around 9 am after the Minocqua Police Department was alerted that a Minocqua-Hazelhurst-Lake Tomahawk school district student might be in possession of a firearm after posting a video holding a gun and making threatening statements the night before. School staff searched the student’s backpage and found no gun but did find two knives. During questioning, another student was implicated. School grounds were all searched and police cleared the campuses.
