Plaidurday Was A Blast…and There’s A New World Record Holder

The city of Houghton may now hold the world record for the most plaid worn on a single day, but the turnout in Ironwood at the intersection of Lowell and Aurora Streets downtown. was great and a good time was had by all. TheDailyGlobe reports attendance in Ironwood was roughly 650 people this year despite some iffy weather. The official record now rests with Houghton, who had 1,745 people in attendance on the football field at Houghton High. The previous record was held by Kenora, Ontario, Canada with 1,359 all in plaid.
