City of Ashland Gauges Support of Tax Hike to Renovate Vaughn Library

At a listening session hosted by the city of Ashland late last week, about a dozen residents shared how they felt about the proposed renovation of the Vaughn Public Library. TheDailyPress reports the session was hosted by the city to gauge interest in raising taxes to help pay for those renovations. Although the majority who spoke were positive about the possibility of more taxes, some asked why surrounding communities whose residents used the library aren’t pitching in as well. Some opposed more taxes, no matter what they might be for. The Ashland City Council will vote on the matter later this month.
