“The county board’s zoning and planning committee voted last week to move forward with a draft ordinance for roo ming houses and short term rentals. According to TheLakelandTimes, the county has received complaints from year round residents about issues with short term renters and those complaints are what brought the issue to the fore. Zoning and Planning committee chair Mike Bizak has said that of course there will also be those who say that they should be able to rent out their property as they please. The draft ordinance will allow time for owners to bring their properties into compliance before the next tourist season.”
