Sighting of Rarely Seen Member of the Deer Family Reported in Vilas County

EAGLE RIVER – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has announced that a moose has been spotted in Vilas County. A Snapshot Wisconsin trail camera took a shot of the rare beast in June. Snapshot Wisconsin helps monitor wildlife all year by using a statewide network of trail cameras, providing data to support wildlife management decisions. The sighting in June is the first confirmed in the state of Wisconsin this year, there are typically 30 moose sightings a year in the state.
