Checking Out Fall Splendor on 14th Annual Mi-TRALES Tour

Around 50 senior citizens from across the U.P. gathered at the Ontonagon County Fairgrounds, getting ready to board recreational vehicles to go for a ride and take in the scenery in the 14th Annual Fall Color Tour, put on by the Michigan Trails and Recreation Alliance of Land and the Environment. 6News reports the leaf peeping tour started at the fairgrounds and ended with lunch at Twin Lakes State Park in Toivola, Michigan. The attendees had the opportunity to stop and take photos and get a brief lesson from the Department of Natural Resources on the fall colors. The Mi-TRALE event is free every year thanks to the donations received from the community. Program Treasurer Dave Bishop said he hopes to keep the yearly tradition going for even more seniors next year.
