The city of Bessemer’s five year recreation plan is due to be filed by the first of February. At the meeting of the city’s Parks and Recreation commission, commissioner Eric Longhini volunteered to review the plan in preparation for the update. TheDailyGlobe reports city manager Jennifer Adams, commissioners Longhini and Trevor Jackovich said they’d toured Bluff Valley Park earlier in the summer to compile a list of concerns. Bridge repair, ADA playground equipment, maintenance of existing playground equipment, and repairs to restrooms and the little library are on the list. The next meeting of the Parks and Rec Commission will be October 5th.
