Work that will extend the lifespan of the bridge at Mineral River near White Pine begins tomorrow. Northbound and southbound M-64 will be closed and traffic will be redirected to L.P. Walsh Road to M-64 south of White Pine. The detour is expected to continue through late October. The repairs are being funded by a $2.9 million MDOT project that will repair three bridges in Iron and Ontonagon Counties. Work includes joint replacement, deck, railing and substructure patching and guardrails among other items. The work is expected to provide at least 35 jobs.
