Businesses in Gogebic and Houghton counties will soon benefit from almost $90,000 in funding from the second round of awards from the Going Pro Talent Fund. Nearly $13.5 million dollars was given to about 300 Michigan businesses to help 8,500 workers this round. Coleman Engineering, Ironwood Plastics and Jacquart Fabric Products in Gogebic County and Lexul in Houghton were recipients of grants. more than 6,000 Michigan businesses have received Going PRO Talent Fund awards to train 175,000 new and existing workers since the programs launch in 2014.
