If At First You Don’t Succeed…Persistance Pays Off…

The town of Arbor Vitae is taking another stab at finding funding to a proposed bike and pedestrian trail that would run along Highway 51 from Chippewa Forest Road to a connection at Terry Drive. TheLakelandTimes reports town clerk Emily Biertzer said the application is for a state department of Transportation Transportation Alternatives Program grant, which was denied earlier in the year. She said she’s rewritten it and hopes this time the town gets the grant. The town board is behind the application for the grant and if it comes through the town would only have to put up 2o% of the cost of the project with overruns. The state would take care of 80% of the bill.
