GCC Board of Directors Meets, Sees Some Staff Changes and Wraps Up Some Business

At the last meeting of the Gogebic Community College Board of Directors, the board accepted the resignation of counselor McKenzie Kanipes. TheDailyGlobe reports Kanipes is leaving to take a position with the Gogebic Ontonagon Intermediate School District as a K-12 counselor. The board approved advertising to fill the position. Lisa O’Leary was appointed assistant volleyball coach and William Perrin, supervisor at Mount Zion was promoted to a full time 12 month position, which is a revision of that position. The board also approved a representative for the college when the sale of the building trades spec home on Mt. Zion Drive in Ironwood takes place. The board accepted a bid of $315,000 for that home.
