District Attorney and Assistant DA for Ashland County Retiring

ASHLAND – Governor Tony Evers will soon have the task of appointing an interim District Attorney to Ashland County, as DA David Meany notified the governor that his last day will be October 2nd. Meany also said that assistant DA Ruth Kressel plans to retire at the end of the month. TheAshlandDailyPress reports that Ever’s communications director has said that a listing for the position is open and applications will be taken until Friday, the 8th at close of business. Britt Cudaback says they’ve collected applications and will conduct interviews and make an announcement. Meany says he’s retiring before his term ends in order to allow the Governor to make an appointment so that they can get up to speed before the next election.
