BAYFIELD – Residents of Bayfield County will hopefully see improved internet service. According to the AshlandDailyPress, more than 50 miles of fiber optic line are being installed in the county to help improve broadband service. More than 500 households in Barksdale and Washburn should soon have access to much better service thanks to broadband provider Norvado. The company, along with the county obtained grants and earmarked almost a quarter of a million dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act to match the grant funding. Norvado expects to start connecting service in September for Washburn and in November for Barksdale.
