Annual Race Makes Its Way Through the U.P.

An event that raises money to support childhood cancer is underway and is making its way through the U.P. The 6th annual Tour Da Yoop saw 38 riders travel around the Keeweenaw, starting and ending up in Houghton. On Wednesday, 40 riders headed to Marquette. From there riders headed to St. Ignace and then back west to Manistique. Participants ride rain or shine with a support crew that follows them on the road. The Upper Peninsula Lion’s Serve Childhood Cancer program works with organizers of the ride to raise money for families in the U.P. This year’s goal of $100,000 is double what it was last year and as of now the Tour Da Yoop has raised $108,000.
