Site of Ashland’s Old Opera House Will Soon Be Homes

Yesterday saw the beginning of demolition of Ashland’s old opera house, which is slated to be redeveloped into condominiums. The AshlandDailyPress says demo includes Eddie’s Bar, which will become a parking garage for tenants of the condos. The opera house has been vacant for several years, and most recently served as a liquor store and gun shop. The plans call for four condos on the east side of the building and on the lower level there would be two one bedroom apartments. The second floor will have two two bedroom apartments. Much of the historic facade of the building is expected to be retained, and there will be green space included in the condo complex.
