An Iron County man has added the insanity plea to his defense for a murder in Alabama. Caleb Anderson went on a three state crime spree last August, sexually assaulting an 18 year old woman in Iron County, then traveling to Green Bay Wisconsin where he killed Patrick Ernst, then fleeing to Alabama, where he also killed Dwight Dixson. No court hearings have been scheduled yet in any of the three states, his attorneys filed notice that they would pursue a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. A psychiatric exam has been ordered. Alabama does have the death penalty.
