Bessemer’s Parks and Rec Takes A Stroll and Makes Acessements

Members of the Parks and Rec Commission took their meeting outside last week, meeting at Bluff Valley Park to make the commission’s annual assessment of the city’s parks and gardens.
TheDailyGlobe reports during their first stop, it was found that one of the park’s four bridges needs repair. Other refurbishments and repairs were discussed and the addition of some equipment. City Manager Jennifer Adams said there is money for some of those things. Dredging the pond was discussed and Adams said she’s looking at grants for that. The group was quite happy with the pollinator garden that had just been planted by the Gogebic County Conservation District. The next meeting for the commission will be August 3rd.
