Vilas County is waiting for funding approval in order to begin work on upgrades for HighwayM. TheLakelandTimes reports at their last meeting on the 13th, the county’s highway committee opened two bids for the work that is due to start later this summer. Culverts are already being replaced and there is gravel and paving work still to be done on about 2.5 miles of Hwy M from Dairymen’s Road to County Highway B. There is a low bidder, but that bid annot be accepted until funding has been disbursed from the county’s general fund.
