2022 was a record year for tourism in Vilas County, and local merchants are hopeful that 2023 continues the trend. 12News reports the Director of Vilas County Tourism and Publicity, Collette Sorgel said last year, people came from all around the area, including Chicago to visit the area, with folks wanting to get away, but not travel too far from home. The area has shopping opportunities, as well access to many outdoor activities, so there’s somehting for everyone. Colette Sorgel and store manager Libby Hauser say they’re hopeful that the record traffic continues into this year, so far, it’s looking good.
