Although there are other building slated for demolition before the state fair, the Gogebic Board of Commissioners last week voted to fund repairs to the livestock building at the county fairgrounds in Ironwood. TheDailyGlobe says the repairs will be to the main entrance, replacing falling brick and siding. A budget of just over $9,000 has been allotted for the fix. The commission regards the work to be a temporary, they also voted on a contingency plan that will engage an engineering firm to make a study on full repairs to the building. The plan is to get through this year and then address a long term solution.
