NWS and EGLE Says Smoky Conditions Will Be In Unhealth Range, Advises Caution

The National Weather Service says air quality levels across the U.P., especially in the Eastern and Central areas continue to be affected by smoke from Canadian wildfires. The Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy says the particulate levels in the area are in the unhealthy range, in fact the counts are some of the highest seen in the last 15 to 20 years. Those with sensitivities should exercise caution and everyone should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors. The heaviest surface smoke is expected to affect the state this afternoon through tomorrow. Rain expected midweek should help clear smoky conditions.
