As we reported yesterday, the Lac du Flambeau tribe has accepted a payment of $22,000 to keep the four roads with contested easements open to allow residents to move back and forth to their homes. TheLakelandTimes reports that with the current payment, roads will stay open through July 12th, while the tribe and the town are negotiating, and the monthly payment the town makes to the tribe will increase by $2,000. Matt Gaulke, the town chairman that now the town board needs to authorize the extension of monthly payments to the tribe, which the board voted to approve. The town board has yet to hear from the title companies involved regarding their request that they pay the monthly fees.
