A project to replace the much beloved ski chalet at Gogebic Community College is underway. According to TheDailyGlobe, the current building was built in 1970, and is not handicap accessible and is just over 1500 square feet. The plans for the new building are for a facility that is 7500 square feet, ADA compliant, and will be designed for use year round. The board of trustees has given the go-ahead on construction once the $3.1 million dollars needed to fund the project. As of now, the board is pursuing funding opportunities, and will at some point turn to the community for help. For more information go to gogebic.edu.
