Ashland Landmark Celebrates Quarter Century of Service

The Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center in Ashland is celebrating 25 years of serving those visiting the U.P. TheAshlandDailyPress reports more than 125 million people have made their way through the center’s doors. When pitching the idea originally, Representative Dave Obey saw the center as a place that would be a learning experience that showed visitors the wonders of nature in the U.P. It was with his vision that funding was secured. In celebration of the center’s service there will be two exhibits through mid October that show the highlight the life and the purpose of the center.
