A plan to resurrect a proposed snowmobile route from Ashland to Odanah is being reexaminted by the Ashland County Board. TheDailyPress reports that the snowmobile trail would allow someone to ride all the way from Ironwood to Superior. The president of the Ashland Snowmobile Club, Ron Sztyndor, is also on the county board, and says extending the trail would benefit both Ashland and the Bad River Casino, allow riders to travel past Ashland. The subject of the route has been something visited several times ove the decades, the most recent being in 2016 when a major storm destroyed bridges that might have been used as part of the trail. Sztyndor is gathering ideas and support for the project, waiting for costs and other details to come to light.
