Michigan Governor Extends Ballot Return Times for Military

Governor Gretchen Whitmer yesterday signed legislation that will give military members and overseas voters extra time to cast and return their absentee ballots in future election. According to WXPR, Michigan clerks are required to electronically transmit or mail absentee ballots to military and overseas voters who requested one at least 45 days before an election and with the new bill, military and overseas voters ballots will count if received up to six days after the election. The new legislation brings Michigan election alw on par with the state Constitution after voters approved expanded absentee voting last fall.
