Although Summer still seems far away, it will be here before you know it and with the warmer temperatures will come another visit from the American Queen Voyages cruise ship the Ocean Navigator. 6News reports The Ocean Navigator visited the Great Lakes for the first time last summer. She will dock in Houghton June 8th and June 12th weather permitting. Houghton City Manager Eric Waara says the cruise line will dock around 8 am in the morning at the city’s new pier, let passengers disembark to spend the day locally and then set sail again in the evenings. Although the two stops are the only ones scheduled, Waara says there may be more ships stopping on an impromptu basis. He said residents can keep track of when ships are coming on on Houghton’s website under news or on its Facebook page.
