Now that Spring seems to have settled in the U.P., more road work projects will be taking place in the area. The Michigan Department of Transportation has started work on three bridges in Iron and Ontonagon Counties, US-45 over the east branch of the Ontonagon River, M-64 over the Mineral River and M-69 over the Paint River. Some fairly full refurbishment will be underway, including replacing bridge joints, curb and gutter repair, guardrail replacement and approach work as well as railing and patching. Detours will be in effect and traffic may be limited to one lane of alternating traffic with temporary signals. MDOT expects the $2.9 million projects to finish up in October.
