The roads in Bessemer continue to be in dire need of repair and at the last city council meeting, the board voted to work on the problem. TheDailyGlobe reports Mayor Adam Zak said this year in particular has caused major damage to roads in the area, with sink holes in streets that have never seen that type of damage before. The Mayor and City Manager Jennifer Adams also say that getting help at the state and federal level is probably not something that will be available for quite some time, so its going to be up to the city. Councilperson Terry Kryshak put forth motion to develop a plan to fund repairs, which could include using the general fund and perhaps issuing a bond. The motion passed.
