Governor Extends State of Emergency Declaration for the U.P.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Friday afternoon expanded the state of emergency due to the recent weather to include Alger, Baraga, Dickenson, Iron, Marquette and Ontonagon Counties, along with Gogebic and Houghton which were declared earlier. RRN reports the declaration will ensure those counties get the help they need to recover from the recent effects of the flooding in the area. The Governor said the state is “using every resource available to assist the UP and aid in the areas recovery.”
