Fair Board Meets, Discusses Possibilty of A Rodeo After All

Hopes of adding a rodeo to the activities on Sunday afternoon during the Gogebic County Fair were the motivation for some changes in setting this years event calendar. The Daily Globe reports the board met earlier this week and talked about event scheduling, including the rodeo, and also passed bylaws for the Fair Board. Fair Coordinator Marlene Saari said the only difference between the old and new bylaws was that the County Board Commissioners, rather than Fair Board member will now appoint members of the fair board. Saari also reported that she has submitted two applications for a grant for perimeter fencing and paved walkways for the fairgrounds. The Fair Board’s next meeting will be May 1st and the public is welcome.
