Work Continues on Copperwood Mine Site Near Wakefield…
All pre-development work has been done and all key state permits have been obtained to allow the Highland Copper Company to begin preliminary work and site preparation on the Copperwood Mine in Wakefield Township, 14 miles north of Wakefield. TheDailyGlobe reports that subnject to completion of financing, construction on the site could begin in the first quarter of 2024. A 27 month construction period would follow, with commercial production slated to begin in the second quarter of 2027. Some of the site work needs to be done to complete obligations of the Wetlands and Streams Permit, that work is expected to be finished Summer of 2023.
