Rezoning of Land in Hurley May Mean More Affordable Housing For The Area…

Land currently owned by the Iron County Resource Development Association may be rezoned from single family to multi residential. TheDailyGlobe reports that at their recent meeting, the Hurley City Council voted to recommend the rezoning to officials of Iron County Planning and Zoning. Early in February, the Iron County Development Zone Council and the Iron County Economic Development Committee discussed the possibility of the property being chosed by Impact Seven of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, an investment bank that along with Northwest Technical College, looks to invest almost $10 million with help from state grants to finance affordable housing. If Hurley is chosen, there could soon be more affordable housing available in the area.
