Although recent storms have brought more snow to the area, ice on area bodies of water is starting to thin out, which means its time to bring in fishing shanties to shore. News9 reports shanties need to be removed from Wisconsin Minnesota boundary waters by the end of the day today and from inland waters south of Highway 64 by this Sunday. Anyone with shacks on the ice should check conditions daily as those deadlines could change with conditions. Any shanty owners who haven’t removed their by deadline are subject to citations.
