Snow Sculpture Contest Part of Upcoming Winterfest in Bayfield…
Winterfest in Bayfield is coming up March 3rd through 5th, and this year part of the festivities will be a Snow Sculpture Contest as a fundraiser on the 5th. John and Mary Thiel of Howl Adventure Center are putting on the event to help raise money to help refurbish and Bayfield’s East Dock Playground ADA compliant. The Thiels were some of the original volunteers who helped put in the original playground. The cost of the refurbishment stands at about $150,000. Contestants will be able to cast a vote for their favorite sculpture by dropping a cash donation into a jar near each snow creation. At the end of the event, the sculpture with the most cash wins. So far, about $50,000 has been raised for equipment at the park.
