Protecting the Lost Creek Watershed

Bayfield County and the Landmark Conservancy have joined forces to purchase 160 acres of environmentally valuable land in the headwaters of Lost Creek near Cornucopia. As reported in the Ashland Daily Press, the property, formerly owned by timber-investment company the Forestland Group of Chapel Hill, N.C., was purchased by Landmark and immediately transferred to Bayfield County. The sale completed in December is the latest result of efforts undertaken to protect the Lost Creek watershed.
