Gogebic County Board of Commissioners Chooses New, Technologically Advanced 911 Service…
The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners late last week voted to approve a final 911 service plan. The Daily Globe reports the plan chosen by the board will be provided by Next Generation 911 technology, which is a digital, internet based system that will replace the analog 911 infrastructure that’s been in place for decades. The use of the new technology holds the possibility of dramatically increasing the amount of useful information that can be transmitted, which will make for a decidedly better 911 service, by enhancing efficiency and ability to help those using the service better.
