Ashland County Responds to Grievance

Ashland County Contends Former Jail Administrator Was Fired for Cause…

Ashland County officials have made their first response to the grievance filed by former Jail Administrator Kim Lavasseur after her firing. TheDailyPress reports that Ashland County Administrator Dan Grady said in a prepared statement that Lavasseur was terminated after Sheriff Brian Zupke attempted to have a discussion regarding her performance. It was the first statement from the county on the termination which Administrator Grady, Sheriff Zupke and the county’s attorney Max Lindsey discussed and upheld. Lavasseur’s attorney contends that being fired without an immediate explanation and chance for recourse violated her rights as a government employee.
