Wisconsin households enrolled in the state FoodShare program will soon see an end to their additional benefits. FoodShare households have been receiving the maximum household benefit, to the tune of roughly $80 million a month. The Consolidated Appropriations Act was passed in late December. February will be the last month that families will receive the additional funds, however, all enrolled families will continue to receive their standard benefits. With the program ending, local food pantries and food banks will experience additional pressure on already stretched resources.
