Vilas County Board to Use ARPA Funds to Give Boost to County Employees

At their meeting last Tuesday, the Vilas County Board voted to designate almost $200,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds to a one time payment for county employees. The LakelandTimes reports the county has received almost $4.3 million in ARPA funds, some which has previously been designated for a new courthouse generator, and just over $241,000 to purchase a new tractor for the forestry department. Elected county officials will not be included in the one time payment, and the one time $2,500 minimum wage increase wil lgo to all full time employees. Part time employees will receive a payment commensurate with how many hours they work.
