New EMS and CPR Equipment Slated for Ironwood

The Ironwood City Commission at their last meeting approved two requests from the director of the city’s Public Safety Department to acquire automatic defibrillators for each patrol vehicle and fire truck, to be funded by a grant from Enbridge, for use in treating cardiac emergencies. The second to cardiopulmonary resuscitation training equipment, including life like training units. The new CPR materials will allow officers to maintain their EMS certifications. The equipment can also be used to provide training for city staff and community groups. The cost of the CPR equipment will be funded by the Michigan Department of Treasury.
